Go fig' After I attempt to streamline the forums, it seems there is now a lot more sales and trading going on here. Just want some quick feedback whether a 'Trading and Sales' forum should be re-instated or whether people are happy with the trading/selling threads intermixed with the rest of the General Discussions. Of course, there's always the option of temporarily setting up a selling/trading forum when there are many trading threads going on such as now and closing that forum during times when few sales are occurring.

Thoughts?

I'd say probably leave it as it is...or not...I'm pretty well neutral on this issue. One thing I think would not be a good idea, though, would be opening/reopening a forum - if few sales are occuring, then not having the Trading forum open might actually hinder any sales being offered!

I say put it back up. I think it really shouldn't be included here. People in this forum want to read about soaker info and tips and whatnot, not classifieds.

all that needs to be done (and the easiest of the options) if there's a problem with the current set-up would just be to merge the "trading" aspect with this forum and include that in the forum description. that way there's no fuss about "oh where'd that thread go" or any hassling for moving threads around. simply include the selling aspect to this forum and everything should be fine. plus, i doubt there's an intense amount of trading going on that there needs to be a separate forum just for that. once in a while a guy like me would want to sell a few things, but that is not so often that it should be given attention to for a forum. not only could that be over-organizing, but it becomes more messy than orderly to have a surplus of forums.... even though it's just ONE more hehe

Valid points, however I still think that the "classifieds" ought to be in a different section than the "news" and "sports" pages.

Well, after considering the above feedback and glancing back at the number of items that have actually been pushed up for sale (other than ebay notices), there just typically isn't that much trading activity. Of course, recent events show a surge in the amount of soakers up for sale by members on this board. Thing is, as this is the first surge, I'm not sure whether this surge represents a true increase in the average number of sales or whether it is just an odd abberation. Thus, for now, I think I'll opt not to re-instate the trading forum and just tack on an additional aspect to this forum's description. Of course, if there is truly a consistent increase in the number of soakers being sold in this forum, I can always re-open a trading forum. I just want to keep this place as streamlined as possible.
