Hands-On: Super Soaker Battlepack

Post by isoaker » Sat May 19, 2012 7:04 pm

Recently acquired a Super Soaker Battlepack!

For those who don't know about this item, it was made during the Super Soaker heydays of ~1992/1993. The Super Soaker Battlepack is basically a Super Soaker-branded backpack with Super Soaker styling and exterior pockets both for securely holding Super Soaker XTC bottles as well as a pocket for holding a Super Soaker 30-sized water blaster for quick access.

The zippered portion of the backpack is not that large and has no additional internal compartments.

More info and pics to come soon.

Took a little longer than usual, but here are a bunch of pictures of the Super Soaker Battlepack.

Definitely falling into the Accessory category, when new, this backpack could have proven fairly useful in the field when the Super Soaker 50s and 100s reigned supreme. Granted, based on the materials and stitching used, not sure how well it would perform when loaded up with several filled water reservoirs, a back-up blaster, and a couple of water bottles in the main chamber. Then again, have you ever seen a backpack (backpack reservoirs not included) built solely for the purpose of water warfare?

Colour's not exactly stealthy (what Super Soaker is?) but having a holster, places for refill bottles etc. all on your back is a good idea and very useful for longer battles. I might see if i can find a cheap MOLLE patrol pack and fit some holsters, and other attachments useful for water warfare (Some tall pouches [probably a mag pouch] for small refill bottles maybe? Or a larger canteen/utility pouch for larger bottles? I know I can fit those small 380ml Lucozade bottles in the NATO mag pouches on my webbing belt kit.), to it.

Then again, I could just use my webbing belt kit and daysack pouch anyway! Or both! :goofy:
