I took some pictures of a homemade I made last summer. It is called the CAD.
The gun takes 8 pumps for max distance and runs on 100 psi
The range of it is 12 metres. It is a compact artilley device (the name CAD)

The gun (It uses an air pump)

The shrader valve

The ball valve

The valve closed

The valve open

The water left behind after a shot (the buldge on the left is from a seris of shark shots)
I made a decent video of It firing

*edit
I noticed that the pictures may be cut out a bit. To see full size just go to my photobucket account.

Nice pics and build! Yeah, pics on these forums get sliced on the right side due to the side panel. I'm going to see if I can tweak it a bit, but not sure how easy that'll be. Simple design, though I'm wondering whether you would consider building a little more to your homemade to make it easier to aim and hold (looks sorta unstable to hold being primarily just a PC and nozzle).

Well I am building more homemade stuff this summer so I will proably not get around to it but I sure could add on a retratable buttstock. This is not a priority though as it works fine and it has such a spread that aim usally doesn't matter. I do have a question though: I may come to one of your soakfests this year if your having them. (I'm trying to convince my mom and she seems okay with driving me and my friend up for the day so she can go shopping.) Would this gun or anyother homemades be allowed at your soakfests, It sure puts the SOAK in fest.
Thanks

Were I having an open-invitation soakfest, you'd be more than welcome to come and use any water dispensing device (bought, modded, or built) so long as it is not capable of doing serious bodily harm, particularly at close ranges (i.e. <5 feet). That said, while I do believe there will be some soakfests going on in the Toronto-area in the summer, I, myself, won't be the organizer of such events, thus you'd need to verify their rules (though most soakfests don't have any water-dispensing device restriction apart from common-sense rules i.e. nothing that can harm another player or damage personal property, no additives in the water, etc.).
