I came across quite the trove of small, uncommon, vintage water guns. I found them all at a Value Village for under 10$ (+ tax).
Image
So that's an SS30 for 2$, a Storm 1000 /Typhoon Force 2 for 2$, a Speedloader 1000 for 3$, and an XP70 for 3$. Finally a decent lot of water guns that aren't ridonkulously overpriced.
The Storm is surprisingly powerful, and the battery tray is super clean, so the lights probably work too. I really like the shape of the handle+pump.
I actually didn't have an XP 70 and this one is very nice. The SS30 worked once you got the 'dust' out of it and pumped it real well, and the SP 1000 probably works. I will try it later.
Anyways, happy 500th reply!

PS: CPS 1500 is beast. My #2 is almost repaired!

Update! Yesterday I went on a massive thriftpedition.
The first thing I found frightened me the most. I picked it up so fast I didn't even have time to think about it.
Image
Yeah, it's the CP SSSSS 5. This is the second Aqua Zone knock-off CPS 1-3-5 I have seen. Why they would imitate what is widely considered a crappy blaster is beyond me, but I still want a 1-3-5 badly enough to hit my head on the shelf on the way down.
Then I went to the same store where I found the pistol trove above. There I found:
Image
It's a very nice XP 150! It is the kind with the 1/4 turn reservoir and a removable nozzle! It works great too! If only it had the sticker I would call it near-mint.

Triple Update! I have found three more super soakers to add to my collection!
Image
2pm today, I walk into my new favorite Value Village and I pull two Super Soaker MDS out of a shopping cart. Mint condition. I am pretty sure that the MDS was my first super soaker. What's the difference between the "classic edition" and the regular??
Then I walk a little further, and grab the Triple Shot (leaks) out of another bin. So that's 3 for 3$ each. Score.
*Edit* fixed the Triple Shot. Trying to pry off the cap was a massive headache, but cutting it was worse. Did you know that it has an adjustable OPRV? I cranked that up to max, fiddled with the check valve, and done. Works great (but makes a hilarious sound when pumping). *Edit*
I always thought that going early was the key to getting good stuff; but now that I think about it I have found some good stuff in the evenings too.

Quadruple update!
Image
One 2-way QFD. Faded, covered in dirt and spiders and green paint.. for 5$. Freaking Talize.
A working shot blast... for 3$. Definitely a candidate for a re-shell or an easy loaner.

Ok what is going on here... another update...
An XP 65, works, for 3$. But this is only the beginning...
Image

UPDATE: Another score today! My very first Water Warriors Splat Blaster!
Image
Pictured below is the knock-off I bought for 1$ from Zellers, made by aqua-zone. They have no shame.
Still, it's a lever-action Shot Blast with a trigger. How cool is that?

Another update! (June 19) So today (Now yesterday) I picked up 3 new water blasters!

First off, an odd one. The STR 90 "Defender" by Tech Group.
Image
It's a quirky blaster. Hit the switch on top and it deploys a folding shield, reminscent of one of those lizards from Jurassic Park. The nozzle rotates 180 degrees and I assume if it worked that would allow me to shoot forwards or sideways. I assume it's a pinch trigger, as I can't get it to fire air yet.

Next up we have this:
Image
Before you say anything, I know some mooks who would pay 10$ for just the drum OR the stock, so it's worth it for me. XD

And I saved the best for last:
Image
It's a Water Warriors Krypton! I'm not sure if it works, but it's a nice, big gun. The pump on this thing is colossal. If nothing else, it would be great for parts.
--So I have looked at the Krypton just a little bit. I have found the most horrid looking battery tray ever:
Image
It's like an asteroid landed in a nuclear junkyard. Blarg. I am going to have to get suited up for this...

Update (June 21)
Today I checked out my local VV on a whim. And I found some great stuff, including two more waterguns!
I don't know who prices this stuff, it was very cheap, and the stickers were placed quite oddly. But I was thrilled!
Image
So that's another XP 65, in excellent condition, for 1$. How could I pass that up? This is my third one; it is identical to my first one (sturdy, non-twisting pump, unscrewable nozzle, great condition) and unlike the last one I picked up just a few days ago.
And the SS 100, 'New and improved'. It's broken in some places and it leaks pressure, but the pump is sturdy and I may fix it one day.

And PS, if anyone out there is annoyed by my tons o' pictures, I can reduce them to thumbnails. I guess I just have pretty good internet, they load really fast for me. (with the exception of yesterday)

You can always check out my minus page (nad3r.minus.com) for all of my latest water gun stuff!

Another update!
Yesterday I walked into my classy VV and picked up this:
Image
Not bad, except that it leaks pressure! I tried to open it but now I am stuck. Does anyone know how to open this? Without just hacking off the pink ring?
Also, I picked up some rare AWESOME non-super soaker guns as well. I am so happy XD

Take all 3 yellow caps off first. Then unscrew everything. You should be able to wiggle the sides apart from there. If not, you'll have to cut the pink piece. I have opened 2 XP 105s. That pink ring makes it very difficult, I had to cut it on one of them.

I fixed the XP 105- all it took was a little Teflon tape around the front PC (and the back for good measure). What amazed me was how little the plastic lip was that the pink ring held on- if you pulled and pried downwards just right, you could probably open it without breaking the pink ring. I chopped through it with my small cutters, than popped the case open. Man is this a simple little gun. They really made this gun right, you know? Nice big pump and a pull valve.

On a side note, my latest water blaster!
Image
Yep, it's a cheapo 2$ walmart syringe blaster. 16" long, 1 1/4" diameter, capacity is ~270mL. In stock form it sucks, but I took an 1/8" drill bit to the front of the nozzle, and now it's actually pretty great! It puts out a nice stream and the range is low-average with little effort, but if you really push it you can get some serious range out of it, while making it more turbulent and less accurate. As long as you don't hold the handle too close to the end and push hard it shouldn't break, but you can tell by using it that it will break if you aren't wary. Still, you can get about 10 tap shots out of it, it can shoot far if you want it to, and most importantly it is so cheap that you could buy 5 of them for the price of some half-decent buzz bee or stupid soaker and walk away laughing. Now I am going on a hunt for more syringe blasters. Makes me regret missing that Super-Soaker-Blaster-Cannon-majig way back when. Now I am going to hit up some dollar stores and see what's the best bang for your buck (or 2).

I've been thinking about it for weeks. Splashzooka. Power Pak. Big Trouble. All of these QFD dependant blasters, at some point in time, someone is going to lose the QFD and then they are going to donate them for me to find. Every time I go to a thrift store I say to myself, "One of these days I'm going to find me a 'Zooka. "
Today was the day.
Image
Boo ya. 4$ for this little beasty. No sticker, needs a new o ring, and it leaks, but it freaking works. I also bought a ton of awesome Lazer Tag gear for next to nothing.
Today was a good day.

I went back to my local VV, and I found quite the little trove. The same nice person who priced the XP 65 and SS 100 was clearly responsible for these:
Image
A Vindicator for 3$. A Lightning, and a Splat Blaster, for 2$. Wow. I'm so used to things being overpriced (The 10$ Flash Flood!) that this was a total, awesome shock to me. The Lightning and Vindicator don't quite work right, but I think a little lubrication goes a long way.
And just wait. I spotted two awesome guns on craigslist! I will be getting them soon...

I bought a CPS 1700 for $15 because the chance came up and I've never owned one.

Great finds by both of you. I'm jealous. Also wish I had the space for all those guns.

Yeah, speaking of which - what was your best deal in terms of what you paid vs how much you actually use it.

I'm not really sure how to interpret that? I mean, if I want to win a waterfight my first pick would be my 3X CPS 1500; but I tend to find new waterguns, test them out a couple of times, then put them away. The price paid has very little effect on how much I would use a certain water gun?

Yeah, I didn't mean that you'd use a gun more because you bought it for a certain amount. I mean the amount of use you got out of it vs how much you paid. For example, I've used X gun 10x but only paid $3, versues I've used Y gun 6x and paid $3. But I suppose you get so many guns that like you said you have to try them all out anyway, so you probably don't have one particular gun that you got for cheap which you use more than the rest.

Hey that Lightning I bought isn't listed on Isoaker.com as a color variation. Also, it is definitely a superior version, it has an undekega nozzle like the newer Blazer does; roughly 5X in output for sure. I tested it against the Expedition I have and it's much smoother, has great range too. Fun Fact: The Blazer has a very close length, height, and width to the lightning, while having almost exactly 70% more PC and reservoir volume. It's pretty cool how similar they look, despite the wacko colours.

Found a Renegade for 4$ at VV. That was it. I didn't find anything at all, anywhere today. I have noticed an increase in people buying crappy water guns from thrift stores, and who knows what I have missed? It would have been a total bust if the Chinese lady grabbing water guns hadn't thought it would be too heavy for her kids when filled.
Image
It's actually a pretty good gun but for the drastic pressure drop off (It's a small PC) and a weak OPRV.
Also, here's a random knock off Helix I found. Identical but for the cap.
Image
Oh, and a Canadian Tire near me still has about a dozen blue Super Soaker Helix on shelves. 29.99 each. For a freaking Helix. Ouch.

Soakinader, please say you bought that vindicator. Also, that is the older 09 renegade. Supposedly they have much less drop off if primed.

Is that knockoff 1-3-5 any good?

I have 2 zooks on there way now, but not at the insanely cheap price you got yours for. They do come with QFDs though.

Edit: I just noticed the longshot in the top picture of yours on this page. Have you modded one?

I'd like to compare the Renegade to the Ultimate Renegade. I was fairly impressed with the Ultimate Renegade. It did have a small pressure chamber but it wasn't as annoyingly small in relation to its overall size as the Ultimate Explorer PC. The Ultimate Explorer gets 1 second worth of shot time on the largest nozzle, though it does shoot 39 feet. My Ultimate Renegade got about 37 feet.

I am fairly sure the 2009/2013 renegade is better than the ultimate renegade. It has at least 2 oz more PC than the ultimate renegade, and a bit more output. I have an explorer (need to fix the pump) and it could fire riot blasts as well (I removed one nozzle).

I'm getting an XP 150 and a Hydrocannon at Apoc. Now that I've decided to keep the 150 as a staple model in my arsenal, it's time to hoard them :p They're actually pretty great to have multiples of - good loaner gun, takes up little space, has that huge pump to salvage if one breaks.

Make sure you test all your models. I've found significant range variation, from 33 to 37 feet. If I had a lot of 150s I'd make one with grey and purple body with orange pump and tanks.

Hnmm maybe I need to be a bit more clear as to what I buy and what I don't? In any case, I bought the Vind, the Lightning (<3) and the splat blaster.
I didn't buy the knock off 1-3-5 or Helix. From the testing I did in store, the 1-3-5 knock off was a PR blaster with a crappy pump. Maybe it could have actually been decent, I don't know.
lol I was wondering when someone would notice the longshot... Yes, I have modded a few longshots, I used to have 6 blue and one yellow at one time.
If I had the time, I would try and test out some of my similar guns... Although I never considered the XP150's I have as performing different, not sure. Oh, and if you want a MK3 [orange] tank and PC's, let me know.
