This could indicate high demand for larger water blasters, contrary to what we've been told over the years about the larger blasters being hard to sell. I recall a problem back then was shelf space, which isn't that big of a problem now that we can buy things online. I'd be interested in hearing why Buzz Bee or other manufacturers don't go larger these days.

Those prices seem about the same as they've always been. It was always a struggle to find good CPS for cheap. Though to be honest, looking at those prices through the eyes of someone who works full-time, they really don't seem so bad anymore. Comparable to decent airsoft guns. The main issue is that they're asking that much for 20-year-old plastic toys. I wonder what sort of people are buying them up. It would seem that there are very few water war enthusiasts, but who else would spend that much on a water gun?

I'd be interested in hearing why Buzz Bee or other manufacturers don't go larger these days.

Less profit I guess. They seem to all be focusing their efforts on dart guns now. I checked BBT's website not too long ago and their new water guns are TRASH now. They were never on the same level as old Super Soakers, but I remember when you could always count on BBT for good light to medium level blasters after Hasbro deserted us. Now BBT only offers one pressurized gun: the Outlaw, which is a rebadge of the 13-year-old Equalizer. They have become what they sought to destroy, haha.

If I ever get back into the game I'm going the homemade/modded route. Hopefully I will someday when I'm more stable and have actual free time, because this really is a cool and unique hobby and I'd hate to drop it entirely.

SEAL, yea but the 1 mk1 on international ebay are $600+ anyways thats not my point. My point is that this is gonna rise really soon in the summer, I cant imagine since last year the prices were really high, higher than as of rn.

Some of those prices look about the same as when I was last active in this hobby and others are quite a jump. At this point, it's probably mostly nostalgia collectors buying this stuff than people who actually intend to use them. I mean, $90 for a 1500 that doesn't work? Gotta be a collector, lol.

Given these prices, I'm thinking about trying to sell some homemade water guns on eBay now to see if they might be a good source of side income.

If I take my old CPH design then I could advertise it as having longer range than a CPS 2000. Though the lack of a built-in reservoir may be a turn-off for many. And the pump needs some work.

If homemades don't sell that well then collectors and/or people looking for better ergonomics or a proven design may be responsible for the prices being so high.
