Haha, the only advantages greater size offers are capacity, and possibly intimadation. I don't get why a lot of people want to see big soakers again; sure, they usually offer more power, but I think CPS 2700-size is about as big as I'd want to go (Of course, I wouldn't mind having an MXL; I can see it being loads of fun in a soakfest.), and you can get plenty of power out of something that size.
Speaking of MXLs, I wonder how that Lightning Storm user would react if he saw one. Sequal?

The CPS 2700 is actually really big... I think it's bigger than the 2500/2000.

To me, the CPS 2700 is definitely bulkier than the CPS2500/2000, but it is shorter. The CPS2700 also weighs more filled and empty than a CPS2000. (See:
CPS 2700 vs CPS 2000 comparison for reference)

I wouldn't say the 2700 is huge. It's a little bulky, but it's pretty compact, meaning that there aren't any long parts sticking out that risk getting caught on things. It is heavy though; I estimate it to weigh about 30 pounds or so when fully loaded, but when it's empty, I can one-hand it without much trouble. Now, the Monster series, on the other hand... They ought to be a lot more powerful considering how big they are.
Why get a giant, heavy Monster XL, when the 2700 offers better range and holds more water, all in a smaller, lighter package?

Because the Monster XL puts out almost twice as much water as the CPS 2700, has a pressure chamber almost twice as large, and just looks downright more badass and intimidating. As for range, according to isoaker the MXL shoots further than the 2700:
http://www.isoaker.com/Armoury/soaker_c ... _monsterXL 33 ft vs 36.
I recorded the 2700 outranging my MXL 41 ft to 39 ft. So, in either case, range seems to be pretty close. If extended shot time is your thing, you can have 10 seconds of 2x or 8 seconds of 5x. I'll take the 8 seconds of 5x.
Ultimately, I think that the MXL and 2700 are 2 very similar guns, in terms of their roll on the battlefield. In a serious fight I would use the MXL on a single 8.5x nozzle for max range. I would be happy to have either, or both, on my team. They both have great capacity, good shot time, and decent range.
http://hydrowar.com/monsterxl.html I have the additional stats on file back home, I just need to upload them when I get time.

The pump on the 2700 is a pain, but the trigger is amazingly smooth and light. It fells like it's broken until the recoil kicks in (shotgunned).
