Found this article written back in 1992 during the first surge in Super Soaker popularity.
'tis sad that even back then there were problems with people mis-using water blasters and, moreover, over zealous politicians not aiming at the true source of the problems, rather using the popular Super Soaker toy as a scapegoat for it.
In other notes, seems like no one in the media was able to measure ranges properly even back then.
As much as I'd like to believe it, a Super Soaker 200 just doesn't appear to have that capability.
