I need help I'm working on a cricket holster but it keeps falling out the bottom. it's just 3 straps and it seems like it will work well.

Take pictures of what you're working on.

Like martianshark said; pics please! :goofy:

The reason why normal pistol holsters can have a hole in the bottom, is because the trigger guard and pistol grip extend a long way below the main body of the pistol, and the muzzle area of the pistol isn't very large (no reservoir or pump in the way!) . They are also more 'square' in terms of their shape. A water blaster has no trigger guard, the pistol grip doesn't extend as far from the body of the pistol and the front end of the blaster is usually MUCH larger. You shouldn't need a hole in the bottom of the holster anyway (its not like you need to fit a silencer, or fire from the holster!) so it would be more effective (and easier) to construct a holster with a strap which extends around the nozzle of the blaster. You can just about fit a WW Goblin or Stingray into a standard pistol holster. It's a tight fit, and the pump has to be outside the holster, but it will go. You couldn't do that with the Cricket, as it's pump appears to be semi- tracked.

If I was going go make a holster with three straps, it would probably look something like this:

The light grey strips are sewn onto the dark grey strip (on both sides), all of which go all the way around the blaster. Some form of belt clip can be attached to the dark grey strip on the other side, or you can just run a belt through the dark grey strip, between the light grey strips. The blue arrow points to the velcro securing point (you could use push-the-dot fasteners or a quick release buckle instead, but velcro is one of the most versatile). If you make the light grey strips adjustable aswell, you could fit almost any pistol-based blaster into the holster!

I don't know if this will help, but it's worth putting out there. http://www.waterwar.net/site_wwn/wwn_wi ... Belt_Clips

Straps still aren't the best of things to make a holster from as they bend and move too much. They'll hold the blaster securely and release the blaster quickly, but can make it harder (and slower) to holster the blaster after use. If you can make them a bit more rigid (sew in a couple of stiff but bendy wires [like the packaging ones used in C-A_99's link], or some thin plastic) to help keep the holster's shape when the blaster's not, well, holstered!
