Power XP 270

I am going to built up a kind of "sniper gun" out of a XP 270. I will remove the PR-valve to get maximum pressure, get a bigger PC, about 500 ml or even more, a backpack attachment and a nozzle with best range.

So my thoughts now lie on whether I just keep the original PC, which says the gun got full pressure after 8 pumps(3-5 seconds) but therefore there is less shot time. But I want to built up a "sniper gun", so this should be not a problem if the range is far enough^^

Tell me what you thing of this :)

Hi there^^ I have just changed my aim on this Soaker:

I have installed a big CPS bladder instead of the "tiny green air-PC" and drilled out the nozzle up to 3 X::

You can now pump the whole reservoir into the PC, this means the PC holds 1220 ml :D

And this is not even the maximum...

Firing time is very long, about 30 seconds at about 50 ml/s output. Range is 11 metres. Now I have a nice and powerful minigun :D

But no sense of a "Sniper-gun" ... :( This idea I have to plan better and build up a new concept...

Have you read ben's article on range? It may help you get that extra range. I would think your problem is how many turns the water needs to go through to reach the nozzles. The 270 is designed for Air pressure, so the water intake is not optimally placed for CPS, where you want a straight shot from the PC to the nozzle.

That is right, but I am quite sure that a straight fluid would not change much, may one or two inch. But to get this I wold have to change the gun totally.

I did my modification in a way, that can be removed easily and I can rebuild the original gun in may 10 minutes :)

And I am VERY satisfied, the gun is great and it deserves its name Super Soaker now :)

Only problem is that the stream is not as clean and laminar as I want it. My goal was a similar gun to the Splashzooca. All is great but the stream is not laminar, but a bit turbulent. May I have to use a sharper drill and drill out the nozzle once again a little bit. The better and smother the drill the better the stream and range...
