Thanks for the heads-up/reminder! I think it's been posted before, but not recently. Some members may have missed the initial posting.
@supersoaker: though I know you're trying to get attention, please avoid non-descriptive titles to your thread posts. I've replaced the initial 'wow...' with something a little more descriptive. Hope you understand.

[This isn't directed at you personally] I've said it a MILLION times: Only the 4100 mark II has a weak trigger. I hate such misconceptions and if people would actually take the time to read older topics and/or use search, they would find this information and end the misconception. All CPS 4100s in soakertag boxes are mark II, and newer 4100s in general tend to be mark II. Mark 1s are quite rare, and I don't remember all the ways to tell the difference, so search for the old topic at SSC.

Yeah, I know, they have only mark 2. I meant the mark 2, I know you've said it a million times, that's how I know, I thought everyone would know only mark 2 had a bad trigger, I didn't get one yet cause I dunno... It seems like it's definately going to brake, then why waste time/money?

You can reinforce it so it won't break. As soon as someone gets a mark 2 4100, they should open it up and coat the trigger with glue and/or attach 2 thin metal strips around the sides. Epoxy would also work, but be aware that the most common type [the 5 minute grayish epoxy] will make the trigger thicker, and you might have to enlarge the cut where the trigger comes down through.

You have to pretty much assume that when someone's talking about the "4100" they're talking about Mark II. Mark I's are so rediculously rare that I don't even bother thinking about them. If I was going for a Mark I, I might as well go look for a Monster 2002. I don't know how good the Mark I's trigger was, but the ratio of Mark IIs to Mark Is in the world has got to be at least 15:1, so I find it pretty pointless to gripe about it.Duxburian wrote:[This isn't directed at you personally] I've said it a MILLION times: Only the 4100 mark II has a weak trigger. Actually what I did with my 4100's broken trigger (this only works because I have a surplus of broken beyond repair CPS 2100's) is take the trigger mechanism minus the finger grip and wrap a CPS 2100 trigger mechanism around it. If you cut off the bottom of the CPS 2100 trigger mechanism, it will fit perfectly. Just throw a litle super glue on and it worked fine for me. I only went through all this trouble because I lost the original trigger grip in the first place.....
