I recently found a supersoaker 50 in fairly-good condition package (unopened/removed), copyrighted 1990. Already having a few of my old 50's, I figured I would keep this one for that day when I need extra cash, and someone (ebay?) might be interested in a piece of water-war history.

However... I can't seem to find any article, auction or anything else that might indicate how much it would be worth (if anything). Anyone have any thoughts on this? I could always just throw it up online to sell I guess, but I'd rather get input from the people who would be most interested :)

Thanks!

On my website, there is an article on Super Soaker Prices. It says that typically a Super Soaker 50 sells for $20 - 35.

Actually, that listing is also posted in this thread, but I strongly caution the reader since I'm not 100% sure whether all those numbers are real or whether some have been pseudo-arbitrarily estimated. As well, original price is a little misleading as well since the value of the dollar has changed through the years.

That list needs to be verified.

I can tell you right now that the minimum prices for the CPS class guns in that list are not accurate at all.

The 3200 and 3000 bottom prices in particular are badly inflated. It says $65-90, but the actual range is closer to $30-80.

The CPS 2000 is listed at $115-195, but in reality $40-200 is more like it. You would be amazed how many CPS 2000s do go for under $60. Not all that many, but much more than people think.

The bottom prices for the CPS 1-3-5, 2500, and 4100 are also definately higher than what you can actually find.

I don't even want to mention the Monster X and MXL bottom prices; they are rediculously higher than the normal values.

The prices on the list for other classes may be more accurate, but the CPS and Monster prices are outright false in many cases.

EDIT: I have found inflated minimum prices in the XP, SS, EES, and Max-D classes as well. That means at least some prices in every class of soakers on that list are inflated, many individual guns being outrageously inflated.

intersting... well then there is a deman enough- extra inflation or not, for these to go sometimes double their original value? (taking into account the changing dollar value).

Are these estimations for the gun in package, or just a well kept loose one?

I don't mean "inflation" as in more demand and higher prices, I mean the prices in the guide are "inflated"-listed higher than what is true, or at least the minimum prices are. The maximum prices in that guide are fine.

These are "estimations" for guns on Ebay in any condition that Soakologist has seen in the past.

Those prices have to be inflated. I got a sc triple charge and splashzooka for less than the minimum ebay value, and they were both NIB.

I don't even know where to start-I've seen so many of the guns on that list go for less than the stated minimum price. I posted a few examples already in above posts, but there's too many more to bother adding. And you guys can trust me, since I've spent so much time searching for cheap auctions.

Here's a tip: CPS 2000s can go for $40-60 during a short timespan each year. Start looking soon.
