SUPER AIR-PS

Post by GJIV » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:31 am

Hi there, after finishing the SUPER CPS with an incredible 4,5 litre elastic pressure chamber I have finished building the SUPER AIR-PS

The Super AIR-PS is a homemade air-pressure water gun with great nozzles and a kind of riot blast. The air-pressure chamber is in your back in a backpack and holds about ( not tested yet ) hmmm 10 litres of pressurized water. This is the biggest PC ever made I think, haha.

I found a broken Max-D 6000, therefore I used the Max-D pump, nozzle selector and valves. The reservoir was removed and replaced by a silicon hose with an adapter to connect to the gardena hose. The max D pump is great for this gun since it is quite thin, which says you can creat ENORMOUS pressure at a small pump-volume. I have not refilled it buy pumping yet, but I think about 200 pumps or more are needed...hahaha

Nozzles are 1 X:: 2 X:: 4 X:: 8 X:: and a 30 X::

range at highest pressure was not tested yet, since a hose exploded when it was pumped nearly to maximum....

1 and 2 X;; got 10 metres, the less pressure the better range, since the maximum pressure is to big for such small nozzles.

4 and 8 X:: have 12 metres range (at 3/4 of maximum pressure)

30 X:: 12 metres, but I think at maximum pressure I should be able to pass the 50 feet range :D

Pics and more information coming later, I have to replace a hose with a bigger and thicker one, that can handle the big pressure created,

firing time also unknown yet, but 1, 2 and 4 X:: fire all longer than 60 minutes, for sure, haha.

You should have made it so the hose would charge it for you like a Super Charger. It would be a lot easier than pumping it 200 times.

The largest pressure chambers on a man-portable device obtainable by the general public are probably those on knapsack sprayers. 20l models are fairly common and 25l can be had. Typically the spray can be adjusted to make a jet, however they're designed for endurance, not high output, so the stream is about XP class.

I have wondered about modding one. Replace the stock hose, valve, and nozzle with larger ones and I reckon I could get something really powerful.

How exactly does that work? The pump has to be close to the PC, and if you're pumping water, you need a reservoir, so that both a reservoir and PC would reside in the backpack. If you're pumping air, you can use a bike pump to get the job done better than a Max-D pump will.

I do have a long hose where I can suck water from any source. I can easily strap on my 25 litre backpack(on my front side, on my back I wear the PC tank) and just connect the "suck hose" with my backpack. This way all is fine :)

@ martianshark: at the end of my "suck hose" where my gun gets its water I have added a hose adapter so I can simply connect to the garden hose and let it fill up. But to get maximum pressure I have to pump manual because our hose do "only" have 6,5 bar pressure and the maximum is about 9 bar I think :) I do not go further than this !

Since the PC holds even more than 10 litres ( I measures and it holds 16 500 ml and some drops :) ) and shoot times are incredible AND I can fill it from every hose I do not use a backpack-reservoir for it. You can really stay for hours on the field without refilling, so a additional backpack is not needed(but easy to add :) ) but you can have some pumps when you are in the battle and there is some water around :) Just put in the suck-hose and get some 30 pumps in it haha

This is the summit of my Soaker-Hobby-interest. I have built the biggest CPS and the biggest AIR-PRessure Soaker yet and also got materials around to build up the biggest PISTON gun. My interest in this water warfare stuff and all connected with it seems to drop off a little. May I build up a big piston gun but that is it then.

I feel that my skills are changing slowly. Actually I do not know what will be instead of it but I see a change in my attitudes.

Therefore I will enjoy all the water warfare and things connected with it ( also speaking of the SSC and isoaker.net community) as long as it will hold :) At this point I want to thank all of you, it was and still is a great time with all you guys here and all I would wish would be having a big water battle with all members here but this will not be possible at the moment... :goofy:

See you later, my lovely Soaker-members :)

Today I washed my car with this tremendous gun, haha, great thing :)

I am looking forward to soak somebody his skin from his body, hahaha :goofy:
