The bottles were chosen mainly for their light-weight.
Getting the right pieces to adapt from 1/2" or 1" pipe to 4" sewer pipe would be quite expensive and heavy.

Something to be noted is that should the bottles be crushed, they will almost always expand back to their original shape when you go to refill.

During some experimenting last month, I noticed that 1/2" PVC pipe fitted perfectly through the opening of the 2L bottles. Also, that 1/2" garden-hose barbs fitted snugly into the 1/2" pipe when wrapped with a layer of black electric-tape.

My plan for attaching the bottles is to:
Force-fit a 1/2" hose-barb into a short length of 1/2" PVC.
Then attach a short length of hose onto the other end of that barb.
Put a smooth to threaded adaptor onto the other end of the PVC piece.
Slide this assembly into the bottle with just the threaded PVC adaptor outside.
And put some epoxy or glue at the point where the adaptor touches the bottle.

Now thread this into the female threaded adaptor on the gun.

If people here can suggest another more rugged but still lightweight container that could be usable for this, I'm open to suggestions.
The Maple-Mountain-Marines.

Terrifying, but oddly refreshing.
