water mines - They stink.
Today I had a water war. After seeing all the good reveiws for the water mines (the bottle kind.) I spent about half an hour digging. During the war ONE person steped on the water mines and even he only got a little wet. It was 1hk. Any thoughts? ???

Think more about placement. ^_^
Around the main way into your base is good--if you remember they're there and don't retreat right into them. Generally, I think tripwire traps are more effective, but since they take so much longer to set up that they might not be worth it if you're setting up in game.

Until faster, cheaper, and more effective active water mines/traps can be set up, they are, IMO, more of a novelty/surprise when they work as opposed to an effective way to soak another. Besides, it's still more fun to be the one doing the soaking than have someone step on a trap and soak themselves.

The Ridgewood Militia came up with a trap that could be very effective. Sprinkler spigots, attached to small pvc piping that is painted and hidden next to a path. The whole system is pressurized with schrader valves, and activated with ball valves or something else if we can get something better. Would take a while to pressurize all that pipe, but well worth it when the water is released.
Our other trap that is easier to set up is suspending a bucket of water over a path from a tree branch. A rope connects it to the ground. When the rope is cut, the bucket turns over and pours out all the water.
Mine type traps don't really work in 1HK, the most they'll do is get someone's shoes wet.

Other sites may say they are good because only in the Militia-Waterbridge wars is a fist-sized splotch of water required to score a kill. A mine trap can get you a bit wet, but not enough on the shirt to count as a kill in those wars. Hence my opinons on mine traps.
