There will be a decent number of new blasters released by Buzz Bee Toys Inc. for 2012. Of the upcoming models, most are air pressure-based. From what I do know, though, no huge (CPS2000/Monster XL)-sized blasters, but the biggest should perform much better than other of the known competitors for 2012.

Water Warriors Viper (air pressure)

Water Warriors Python (air pressure)

Water Warriors Colossus (air pressure)

Water Warriors Steady Stream 2 (piston/spring-hybrid)

Pictures coming soon.

Hey Buzz Bee, if you are reading this...

THANK YOU FOR CHANGING THE LOCATION OF THE PISTOL GRIP!!!!

No seriously, that was my biggest complaint about WW guns. The Vindicator is great, but I can't one hand it due to how far back the pistol grip is. Count me down for buying a Collossus over my Mid-Tour Leave in May. I also really like the design of the pistols. I'm hoping the Python has a little pressure chamber, like the XP 70 or SC 500.

While it'd be great for the Python to have a small PC, I have a feeling it's a pressurized reservoir blaster.

Whoa, NICE. The Viper/Python look to be well designed as quick-draw sidearms, provided one has the proper equipment for it. The Python's shape doesn't really make much sense as separate-chamber, though Hasbro has never been shy at breaking sep. chamber air configurations and giving them horrible performance as a consequence.

The Colossus looks unusually awesome for some reason lol. Pump designs look pretty nice too, except the Colossus looks like it might suffer from handle rotation problems like the Piranha, Orca, and other blasters did.

If the Colossus pump shaft if circular, it will suffer from shifting issues on the in-stroke. One thing I don't understand is why in the world Buzz Bee would set the Viper and Python pump grips the right way (full horizontal bar), but not on their best offering, the Colossus. The pump also looks short. I know the pics are probably not to scale relative to each other, but that would be a noticeable drawback. Bigger PC = needs longer stroke length. This is one reason why I hate when soakers are too tall, but don't mind if they are too long. Number of pumps to full is an important stat. I like how the safety enclosure doesn't appear to get in the way of larger hands. The Colossus also looks decently balanced horizontally, with good reservoir design. It appears to place the intake at the lowest point and naturally feeds all the water down to it, no having to tip it back or forward. That said, there is a lot of reservoir coming off the end and I'm not sure what that means for the balance. The filling cap looks very small, but I hope that's just the scale of the picture. Big caps with big openings = big plus.

Overall, I'm on the fence about whether to buy a Colossus or not. I'll have to wait for the nozzle sizes and the ranges. If the range curves upward, ie the best range is on its largest nozzle, there is modding potential. A competitive air pressure gun needs to hit at least 40ft, imo, so if it hits 35 or more stock, un-pre-pressurized, I'll take it.

I'll pass on PR guns. The world has enough of those and they are rarely useful except in specialized gametypes where you need small guns (ie Assassins).

Images are to scale, but all the images are differently scaled. For a better idea of sizes, would need to roughly match the trigger-grip area size. Not sure why BBT used a different pump grip on the Colossus. For scaling purposes, all the caps should also be the same size. What I'm particularly interested in with the Colossus, though, is its PC. It is actually quite large. Let's put it this way; from my estimates, it occupies a larger area than the PC on a CPS1000!

Well, they certainly look nice. I'll be looking forward to the Colossus' stats; it's the only one that really interests me (The other two are probably just more Equalizer-like blasters.); it's PC actually has a CPS look to it, even though it's probably not. If it gets Gorgon-like performance in a smaller package, I'll probably get one (Though I also wanted a Gorgon, and never got one...).

Where did you get these pictures anyway? I'd like to see the Steady Stream 2.

As for CPS-type tech, BBT is currently banned from making anything with a rubber bladder, so don't expect to see those from BBT until the patent expires.

The colossus isn't CPS... lol

I'll probably get the Colossus and maybe the Steady Stream 2. The Viper and Python look the same other than the nozzles.

Huh, I'm actually disappointed at this, I'm weird in that I really like the grip in the back of guns like the Vindicator.

I am looking forward to seeing the performance of the steady stream II. I was impressed with the steady stream I and if they have managed to increase the power I might consider using it as a backup gun. The new styling looks really cool, but I think the cylindrical blasters are a more practical shape.

The Steady Stream II more interests me as a potential Nerf gun. All it needs is a catch/trigger system and a barrel. I mean, look at the size of that spring! There's some potential in that thing.

They look amazing.

Is it just me, or does it look like that viper nozzle does something? And a tracked pump on a PR? This could easily become a trusty backup.

I lolled at the collosus. The nameā€¦
Anyway, looks nice, but the pump looks puny.

I am hoping there are some riot blasts and no fans.

I saw these at Target yesterday except for the Python. They're not as shiny as they are in the pictures, haha, but the Colossus does have this oddly badass feel to it. I also saw the junky SS line; nothing new under the sun. Off brand items, I saw a WB 3-man slingshot and a thrower kind of device that works like a lacrosse stick.

Now wait just one cotton-pickin' minute! If BBT can afford to make the SS2 (From now on the official acronym for the Steady Stream 2.), then why did they have to stop making the Pulse series? Don't they use similar tech?

Anyway, things look promising. Maybe these blasters can make it so 2012 won't be the worst year for stock blasters since before the SS 50. If the Colossus can top 40', I'm getting one. I actually like the styling of these blasters better than the new Super Squirters!

I wondered that, too. Not just similar tech, but the same tech. The Steady Stream and Steady Stream 2 simply lack the nozzle valve and trigger assembly. That said, there are a couple of additional catches. Triggers and nozzle valve adds to the cost of the blaster. On top of that, I believe the springs used in the Pulse series blasters were actually larger a bit, not only increasing the cost of the spring, but also requiring the housing to be stronger so it does not break when the spring is compressed. Overall, this ends up pushing the manufacturing cost high enough that for a smaller blaster, the end retail price would be considered too high and not likely appealing enough to the average consumer. While the group here would probably buy 'em, just not enough definite interest in higher-priced water blasters especially given the current economy. That's also why I believe it's going to be a little while before we can see larger (bigger than a Gorgon) water blasters return in better numbers.

Water blaster PC springs are generally way too strong to work as Nerf springs, at least for pullback. If that weren't the case, one could simply pull back said spring and fill it up with water but instead, pumps are used. Not sure how compressed air would behave in such a PC though. (i.e. If the spring were pushed back via compressed air instead of water.)

There's one thing I'd like to reiterate which I've mentioned before, and that is that air pressure does not really have the limitations that we all seem to always see. These limits are imposed by manufacturers due to cost, but if that wasn't an issue we'd see air pressure blasters be just as powerful and effective as their CPS counterparts.

It's not really an issue of power with air pressure - it's the damn drop off. The only air pressure gun I have that performs like CPS is my Defender, and I'm not sure why exactly, it just doesn't have drop off. The stream cuts out like CPS. If power really were the difference, there would be no point in making CPHs, since air does not require maintaining/replacement over time and cannot rupture.

It looks like the CPS 1000, 1200, and 2100 Now Have Opposition. Game on! :cps1000:

It looks an after burner, lol! I doubt it does anything though, It would be cool to make a nozzle that can open and close like the rear of a fighter jet engine only much smaller. Multiple nozzles would no longer be needed to change size, just twits it to open and close...

Personally I would like to see shower settings instead of fans like on the XXP 275 (though that had a fan too, but like this: '|' not like this: '--' for some reason).

Has any one tried making CPS with a piston and a bunch of elastic bands? I have a concept where you take a big tube with a plunger in it, and have a bunch of elastic bands to pull the plunger back down to push water out. Could this work? If so BBT should totally do that!
